Baby Blanket Knitting Pattern using Ribbed & Seed Stitches

free knitting pattern for its a girl

Someone at work left for maternity so for her leaving present I knitted a baby blanket. She redecorated her baby room using soft grey and yellow shades so I made a note and knitted matching patterned squares to go in her nursery!

I used two very simple knitting patterns for the squares and 75g of wool in each colour. They were 40 stitches long by 40 stitches wide but feel free to try out different sizes to suit your blanket. Just remember to keep them as squares.

Put the Squares Together to Make a Blanket

I made 4 yellow and 5 white ones and then stitched them together using the yellow wool.

I love making squares to make baby blankets; have a look at my baby boy knitted blanket too!
