Exploring the Hobbycraft Show at the Excel Centre

Having never been to a crafts show before I was extremely excited to go to the Hobbycrafts Show at the Excel Centre.

I’ve been exploring the world of making more and more since I’ve bought my own home so I thought it’s the perfect time to get some inspiration and tips!

Where to Buy Fabric for Crafts

The haberdashery and dress fabrics stalls at the show were definitely the most popular (and very crowded) areas. So, with sharpened elbows and determined looks, we scouted out the fabric designs. With quirky patterns, chic styles and colourful finishes the materials that most stood out can be seen above and here is where you can buy the fabric:

New Craft Idea: Marbling 4 Fun

arts and crafts marble effect making demonstration

We were lucky to catch a demonstration by Marble Art of this beautiful marble effect on an Easter Egg (as Easter is only around the corner!).

If you fancy something different or out of the ordinary that’s really impressive then definitely check this unique craft idea out.

Obviously I couldn’t leave without checking out the cute ribbons too so I thought I’ll share a few of my favourites (pictured above).

I’ve noticed that the crafts show is a great chance to stock up for Christmas. I know it’s early to talk about the ‘C’ word in March…but this can definitely help you get organised and have all of those presents made and sorted before end of November.

The Craft Show Inspired Me To…

  1. Make my own curtains
  2. Upholster and upcycle my second hand chairs
  3. To get more organised for Christmas

Are you inspired you to undertake a crafts project yourself?
