Here’s a sneak peek of how my garden looks at the moment…
As we’ve only moved into our first house at the beginning of winter last year, there’s been no reason to do any work on the garden. Frankly, the weather has been so shabby we simply didn’t want to. As the garden has been the most neglected part of the house I thought that the Spring Bank Holidays are a good excuse to sort it out and buy some comfortable furniture.
I started looking around and it’s fascinating how the more I look, the more new companies I come across that do furniture and home essentials, like FADS that does plenty of garden seating! I’m happy there’s so much choice because then I know there’s a very small chance someone will have the same bits as me. It’s to prevent that same feeling of dread when you turn up to a party in the same dress as someone else! haha.
It’s also great to see the array of garden furniture available, so here are my options…
I vowed to myself that when I finally get my own garden I will buy a lounger. In the UK we don’t get much sun or warm weather… so when it’s finally nice outside (once or maybe twice a year haha) I want to make the bloody most of it!
Sunbathing or even just relaxing during the warm summer evenings with a cold drink in one hand and a book in the other sounds like my idea of bliss, don’t you agree? 🙂
I think a chic bench could be a really nice idea and probably more practical as more than one person can chill in the garden on it. I see a bench fitting in easily and being so comfortable too with loads of cushions to snuggle on.
A Swing Seat
My sister has one of these and she loves it! In the summer it was perfect for social BBQ’s and I must admit, she and her husband looked super sweet whilst swinging together by the fire. I think I’d add a few fairy lights for that perfect romantic setting if I got one 🙂
Garden Lounge Set
These are perfect for families and the in laws have exactly this in their garden who often host Sunday family gatherings. They said it reminds them of being on holiday, so not only is it great to sit many for dinner but it’s also ideal for a morning coffee in the fresh morning air to pretend you’re on holiday abroad.
Cute DIY Ideas
If you’ve been on my blog before you’d know I’m into my DIY because I love making and being hands on. If time would allow I’d make something like the above in a heartbeat. Looks like it’s simply a wooden palette with a cushion and a textured throw, which makes it into a comfortable furnishing. It’s on wheels too!
Anyway, here’s my Pinterest board called Garden Bliss that’s full of my garden inspirations for the spring Bank Holiday.
Keep an eye out for my before and after garden pictures in a few weeks time!
