Jona Eckerlein started as head chef at Soup Du Jour in London last year, which was founded by friends Daniel Auner, Charles Rivière de Paillé and Julia Ebert. As the name suggests, the eatery sells mouth-watering soups of all kinds, particularly taking inspiration from those traditional ‘Grandma’s best’ dishes that evokes nostalgia.
I thought I’ll let you know about it in case you love eating in London and looking for a new place to try out 🙂
As the prices are less than a fiver anyway it’s probably a good and healthy lunch and perfect for those busy workers in central London (me) !
Soup Du Jour Chef: Jona Eckerlein
“Cooking is my life and my passion is what makes me happy and I try to challenge myself every day”
Growing up in a small town in south-west Germany, Jona knew he wanted to become a chef from a very young age. Food always amazed him. He visited an elite chef school in Germany and was trained in a Michelin star kitchen. After he worked as Head Chef in a small fine dining restaurant in Trier, he became a Sous Chef in one of London’s finest vegetarian and vegan fine dining restaurants. Now he is Director at Soup du Jour in London and is responsible for the many delicious and healthy soup offers in Soho and the city!

As you can see from the tasty images, this carrot and ginger soup is full of nutrients and healthy goodness. I feel privileged as head chef, Jona, had made this one specially for The Fairytale Pretty Picture and for you, my lovely readers.
