A lot has changed since the first Next Blogger Network (NBN) event in 2013.
Just have a look at us…
Not only is my platinum blonde hair is no longer hurting people’s eyes but I’ve also been blogging for two year and feel like I’m just getting the hang of things. It was also an absolutely lovely little reunion with Eskay Beauty and I2Style as it was great to catch up on life two years on about all blogger things 😉
The Motivational Talk
Next offered the audience a panel of four very inspirational and entrepreneurial blogger ladies. All four gave us their top tips for either blogging and social media which motivated me to do loads more with my blog. What I found most interesting though is each had their own unique style of working as well as their own personal twist on fashion, lifestyle or home!
I found Danielle from Idle Lane was a pleasure to listen to and chat to as well. I loved that she works as a professional dancer and still manages to post absolutely beautiful fashion posts that inspire. She stressed the importance of being organised and that it’s important to, in her words, compartmentalise the things that you do – what she means by this is to give what you’re doing a 100%. So for example if she is rehearsing she will be completely and utterly focused on that. Anyway, she’s a lovely person who has worked hard to get where she has.
Jen from Love Chic Living gave loads of useful tips on Pinterest and being professional. She’s a great role model, not only because she has an interiors blog and has been an inspiration to me throughout my blogging time but also because she’s super organised and is an incredible multi-tasker. She has a family, a few sites, social media followers of a million on Pinterest alone and she started to film QVC and adverts now too! I look forward to trying our her Pinterest tips for myself after my wedding.
Samantha from The Beauty Crush had lots of interesting things to say about YouTube. I’ve always thought YouTube to be a time consuming (and somewhat lonely) platform, especially as the film editing can take so long; let alone the filming itself. Anyway, ever since Sammie’s talk though I’ve had a look at my own channel and found that my one and only video… a review of a washing machine, has received MORE THAN 1k views in a month! I’m shocked and excited and I think I might give a monthly video a go – be it a home haul or documenting my DIY projects.
and Rosie, from At Fashion Forte (and The Only Way is Essex) said many things that I took note of. I particularly liked that she is a strong believer in being true to yourself, working hard and pushed bloggers to be persistent in order to achieve the ultimate goal – be it more followers and readers or simply respect for doing something you love and sticking to your guns.
All in all, I’ve learnt a lot and would like to say a massive thanks to Next for organising the NBNevent!
The #NBNevent Blogger Awards
Such a MASSIVE thank you to Next for awarding me with a Runner Up prize. It means a lot especially when I really do put my heart and soul into my photography and writing. I had an amazing day and can’t wait for your next event (if you pardon the pun!)
