One of my favourite homeware designers definitely has to be Plum & Ashby. I initially discovered them via Twitter and always thought they had the most amazing items. I also thought that they’re located up North (no idea why!)
However, luckily, a couple of weeks ago, I received an email inviting me into their shop and to my happiness – it was located near where I work! So, I was awaited eagerly for their Christmas Party evening to arrive and practically ran up Tottenham Street towards their lovely little shop that’s tucked away in the cobbled streets of Central London. After a warm welcome from the hard-working team and Vicky herself (Co-owner) I found Bertie, the dog that inspires much of the designs, relaxing after a very busy day – isn’t he a cutie!
It’s clear that the love for Bertie shines through the designs. The patterns, prints and iconic drawings of the cute dog are on the fabrics of cushions, towels and plenty of kitchen accessories too. What’s not to like? The homeware and accessories are modern, Bertie is adorable and the items have plenty of character that are sure to trigger a conversation with friends and family.
Although there are a lot of patterns in their shop, I adore that they’re subtle. That means it’s so much easier to incorporate into any home and interior style. That’s why I predict that Plum & Ashby is going to do better and better come 2015!
I have my eye on that Bertie cushion or even a Bertie Christmas decoration *awaits payday*
