Romantic Bedroom Ideas for Snuggling

Sunday is for Snuggling can definitely be a motto that I live by. This Sunday is extra special this year because it’s also Valentine’s Day.

I always like to update the bedroom in time for Valentine’s Day and create a love nest that’s comfortable, cosy and calming. Below are the steps that I take to create a romantic bedroom that’s perfect for snuggles 🙂

Sensuously Soft

To create a romantic bedroom I start by updating the bedding so I bought this ‘love and kisses’ duvet cover that’s super cute. I like that it’s subtle with a purposefully faded design of hearts and romantic words like ‘love’ and ‘kisses’. This year I also chose this lovely super soft blanket. I love the pastel colours and the motto of course. Both the bedding and the blanket are going to keep us warm as we sleep in on the Sunday morning.

Cute Pastels

Serene and soothing, pastel pink and baby blue go wonderfully together and create a calming room environment. To bring romance into the decor you don’t have to use passion red accents instead these lovely pastel tones will subtly inject pure feelings of love. I feel like there’s something cute about these hues and perhaps even innocent, if you know what I mean?

All the Senses

As Valentine’s is smack bang in the middle of winter the bedroom seems stuffy so I like to open up all the windows to let fresh air in. Once you can’t stand the chill any longer close the windows and have a think about adding candles or perfume to make the air smell lovely and sweet. The smell just adds that something extra special whilst the candle or perfume bottle is used as a decoration.

Mood Lighting

Use a lamp or fairy lights to add to your romantic scene. It’s usually dark on winter mornings so having a soft light that doesn’t hurt your eyes first thing in the morning is ideal. My chic light with an ampersand design radiates a lovely warm colour, adding to the cosy feel of the room on Valentine’s Day.

Cosy Cuddles

I’ve already mentioned the soft throw above but don’t forget to wear super comfy PJs and socks too. Heat Holder’s gave me these gorgeous pair of socks and they’re soooo fluffy and soft inside, I never want to take them off. I believe they’re thermal too so ideal for a crisp morning like we often have during February.

The City of Love

I find that adding Parisian designed items add to the romance. Paris, after all, is one of the most romantic cities in the world and holds a place in my heart for being a wonderful place. The language is flirty and the history is fascinating. Anyway, I like how my clock with the Eiffel Tower has a chic design with colours that go really well with the pastels so I’ve put that up above our bed.

Will you make a change to your bedroom decor this Valentine’s Day?

Beautiful photos. I love the pink and blue theme you chose. I wouldn’t change our bedroom for Valentine’s Day, but we are decorating a nursery at the moment and I’ve been looking at lots of lovely pastel colours for that. I hope you had a lovely Valentine’s 🙂
