UK Blog Awards 2016 – Best of British

UKBA16 Best of British Awards Evening – 29th May 2016.

Judging the UK Blog Awards lifestyle category for the third time has been an honour.

It has been amazing to see such wonderful bloggers and companies get the recognition they deserve.

As I joined the judging panel from the first year it was founded, it’s great to see the growth of the blogger community. With thousands of entries it’s harder and harder to be shortlisted so would like to congratulate everyone for their great achievement.

If you’ve been following my blog or YouTube channel you’ll know that I like to make things. So, when I couldn’t decide what to wear I figured that I’ll sew my very own skirt! I haven’t done it before but I was up for the challenge.

I used beautiful Bluebellgray new fabric called Wisteria, that’s colourful and vibrant. It’s one of my favourite British companies who have the loveliest home decor bits and fabric. Find my video below that’s a step by step guide on how I made my floral midi skirt. I paired my skirt with a plain white top for the evening and pale pink cardigan (pale pink jumper in the other photos), with grey shoes & bag from Debenhams, plus a beautiful bracelet from http://larimar.com* that finished off the look nicely as it’s very elegant and adds a subtle colour.

  • […] “My shoes are from Debenhams. The reason I wore them is because I thought the skirt needed an elegant touch and their pointy end gives exactly that. The heel is comfortable and stylish. But I also needed to wear shoes that were a neutral colour so as not to take the attention away from the floral pattern of my midi skirt. There is no way that I’d travel in those to the venue all the way from Essex so I had a sneaky pair of flats in the cloakroom for when it was all over!” Have a read of Alina’s blog post about the UK Blog Awards and her amazing outfit here.
