2014 is finally here! With everyone making New Year resolutions I was wondering why shouldn’t I try wearing different styles. Everyone has their comfort zone and I’ll be stepping out of it this year with the following top 2014 fashion trends.
This one’s probably going to be easy to wear to work. With jackets and straight cut trousers leading the way I’ll be able to show off that manly tailored look that’s so popular on the runways. I love that shapeless and overgrown coats are making a comeback, which usually suits tall and slim women. For me, (who is 5ft6ish) I just need to find one that doesn’t make me look like a dwarf…
Black and White
Although I love wearing black, when it comes to white I usually shy away from it as I’ve heard it can make you look larger than you are. I guess I haven’t been going about it the right way though because a black and white outfit can look stunning. I’ll simply use white to outline the white so that it’s not overwhelming. My monochrome madness is here.
Prints and Patterns
From geometrics to floral and African inspired designs, print dressed are bold, loud and are very impressive. I’d go for something subtle though, rather than a vibrant multicoloured patterned dress.
An ultra modern look will definitely be mixing patterns in one outfit… but I’m not sure I’m that brave.
I always prefer delicate jewellery but this year I want something big and eye catching like a glam statement necklace. I’m more than certain it’ll look great with my little black dress for a night out with the girls.
ELLE claims ‘orange is the new black’ and it’s no surprise when the runways were filled with the colour. Lips to toes; orange is a must-try colour this 2014 that’ energetic and powerful, and ideal for a club nights.
