Falling in love with images isn’t anything new.
A part of my blog title includes ‘pretty picture’ for a reason. I simply can’t get enough of beautiful photography, art and images. It inspires me; my creativity; my intellect; my style. There’s no getting away from it and goodness me, I don’t want to either because I love it.
That’s why Instagram is such a hit.
I can just browse and browse and lose hour upon hour just scrolling through my feed. So, since the algorithm update that launched a couple of months ago on Instagram I’ve noticed I no longer saw the beautiful pictures that I was used to seeing – so I had to go in search of some. That’s when I realised that I find the seven Instagrammers below so inspirational and I’m sharing them with you today so that you hopefully enjoy them too!
1. Jo_rodgers
First up is Jo Rodgers. When I first found her Instagram feed I just stared at her work space (image below) and couldn’t look away. She posts about it regularly and I can’t help but be really jealous at how elegant and peaceful it is. I love the fact that she has books galore and that it’s a designated corner for her writing, unlike my nomadic working space which moves from the sofa to the dining table to the home office upstairs.
Jo Rodgers is actually a writer who contributes to Vogue.com with recipes and travel articles. Her photography is calming and most also have a rustic edge.
2. Local_milk
Elizabeth Kirby takes a range of photography, from cities to beaches; people to food; her pet to her pregnancy bump. It’s exactly why I like her feed on Instagram, it’s different and a sneak peek into her life. I especially like the way she captures the atmosphere in very unique places, like in the post below.
3. Mademoisellepoirot
Carol Poirot is a photographer who I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of times. The first encounter was at the LivingEtc House Tours last year, sponsored by AO.com. (You can read my posts here and here.) She’s not only a social lady with lots of entertaining stories about her past but really talented too. I love that she’s able to capture the effortlessly striking, if that makes sense? Seriously, I can easily get lost in her Instagram feed – speak to you in a couple of hours… 😉
4. Littlegreenshed
When scrolling through Lou Archell’s Instagram it always makes me feel calm. The fresh scenes speak and each tells their own story. She had shared beautiful photos of her son enjoying the sunshine before and covers her travels too. Lastly, I very much enjoy the serenity I feel looking at her simple yet stunning pictures of flowers.
5. Me_and_orla
Sara Tasker takes her photos on the iPhone6S… that’s right, it’s all done by phone as far as I understand. She has amazing atmospheric and moody photography that’s enchanting and that’s what I love most. She’s able to be at the right place at the right time and snaps the most beautiful moments of life (below is a photo of a bird fluttering). If it hasn’t already, her feed really will capture your attention.
6. Lobsterandswan
Owner of many botanical centrepieces, Jeska Hearne is a writer and stylist who inspires me to have more plants in at home, haha. I came to her Instagram from her lifestyle blog, which is just as entertaining. I love that her photography is vibrant and full of energy, and especially enjoy that she doesn’t shy away from colours and patterns where others might. PS. She also has the most photogenic, model cat 🙂
7. Ezgipolat
Last but not least, Ezgi Polat is a photographer in Berlin. She doesn’t only take great photos of things and places (and her gorgeous cats) but I’m most impressed at her skill at capturing people in the moment. There’s simple elegance in her Instagram photos, and, I feel, one that’s understated. A simple touch or gaze or even half a face in her pictures can easily speak a thousand words. So captivating!
I loved sharing these amazing Instagrammers with you. I hope you can see how each one has their own, unique edge to capturing life, people, pets, plants and more. I’m definitely no photographer so not only do I enjoy learning as they post more and more but they inspire me to write, to enjoy what I have and to live life to the full.
Do you follow any of the above? Please also share the Instagram feeds that inspire you below, I’d love to know.
