We have a very special Christmas coming up with our new family addition.
It would be 3 months on Christmas Day since we travelled from Essex to Yorkshire to pick up our beautiful white German Shepherd puppy. Here are a couple of adorable photos that the breeder sent up to fall in love with before we saw the pup in person…
So many people have told me that having a dog is like having a child. You worry about them constantly, wondering how they are getting on with their day if you’re not there with them. You love them even when they are being naughty. In our case, we even take him to doggie day care so that he socialises with others and grows up to be a well behaved, well rounded dog. As I’ve not had children myself I don’t notice the similarities but when I talk about Casper, our gorgeous puppy, the comment definitely comes up a lot 🙂
In two and a half months I feel that we’ve achieved so much together and have grown close. I’ve worked my socks off to get him trained as he’s going to be a MASSIVE dog (…his paws…) and after a few hard weeks and some sleepless nights I can definitely say we’re in a healthy routine and are looking forward to the festivities.
I might be going OTT here but I decided to put some treats and toys together for Casper so that he has something new for Christmas. Yup, as I said it’s like having a child haha. This Christmas is going to be extra special too because it’s his very first! The lovely team at Harrods offered to send me a few bits from their new My First Christmas at Harrods collection which I’m sure Casper will appreciate very much 🙂
It was easy to stuff the white Christmas stocking* with puppy items. The hubby and I bought some toys that are good for his puppy teeth and teething and got extra treats that will either keep him occupied or encourage good dog behaviour.
When it came to the My First Christmas Advent calendar* it had perfectly sized pouches for single treats. Just like the hubby and I, Casper is treated once a day to a small treat. As chocolate is poisonous to dogs this advent calendar is ideal… and super cute. I cannot wait for Christmas Day now!
Is it just me or do you give your pets Christmas presents too?

An advent calendar for a doggy – how utterly adorable? I don’t know why I never thought of this before.

Casper is so cute! Doc would love to have an advent calendar too, but I’m not telling him that there’s such a thing 😉 Haha.

Wow I have never seen a white German Shepherd before, what a stunning dog Casper is. I like the stocking too.

Ahh I love that he has his own advent calendar! Our dog isn’t so lucky, with four children there really isn’t any more room on the mantelpiece!

That is one beautiful dog you have there, and I think he is going to love his treats. I wish I had the time a patience for a dog, but I’ll just have to admire yours for now
