Invitation RSVPd, hair and manicure booked, outfits narrowed down to three but until you’ve chosen shoes and bag then selecting your outfit will need to wait! Sound familiar? Getting organised to attend a wedding can be quite stressful even when you’re not the bride!
You want a look that isn’t going to upstage the bride, but will fit in to the perfect day the bride is planning. You don’t want one off accessories that only go with one outfit in your wardrobe.
Shoes to Wear to a Wedding
For shoes choose something that will cope with a long day and plenty of standing about and will also allow you to dance the night away! For that reason we favour peep toes over strappy sandals, they look elegant and feminine and are just that bit more comfortable with long periods of wear!
In terms of colour, this will depend on your outfit but you may want to consider the colour(s) that the bride has chosen to create some synergy with the wedding theme or simply to look at what is on trend this season.
Pastels don’t need to be pink but all shades are in this season and are fabulous for weddings with their muted styles. Little chance that they will overwhelm the bridal outfits and given the popularity for purple as a theme colour for weddings at the moment, depending on the bride’s colour choice these lovely peep toe heels in lilac from Want Her Dress would be perfect but if purple’s not for you these shoes also come in aqua, which hits another major colour trend this season blue any shade from duck egg to cobalt and these gorgeous aqua coloured peep toe heels tick the boxes for being right on trend!
Alternatively if you prefer warmer shades you could go for one of the hottest colours of the year; pink! Select anything from candy floss to crimson. These gorgeous pink peep toes with beaded embellishment from Kurt Geiger would be great for summer parties too.
Or maybe a more subtle shade is in order so that your shoes don’t overwhelm your own outfit. We love these stunning Russell & Bromley splash the cash because you’re worth it beauties which come in three different flavours!
Wedding Bag Ideas
So now you’ve narrowed down the shoes looks like you’re going to need a new handbag as you can bet your bottom dollar that none of your current bags look right! It should be big enough to hold a few essentials but not so big that you fill it with stuff you might need and never do…
This gorgeous multi-coloured clutch bag in snakeskin style pattern from Want Her Dress ticks all the boxes. It’s elegant and the range of colours makes it perfect for the selection of shoes above.
Whatever you decide we hope you have a wonderful time and that both you and the bride look gorgeous!
