Soon I’m hoping I’ll be decorating my very own guest bedroom!
After thinking of many different themes, from vintage and chic to minimalistic, modern interiors, I have finally been swayed towards the beauty of horses.
There’s something simply stunning about these creatures. I’ve decided that the basis of the room would be monochrome with artistic images of horses like this beautiful horse bed cover below.
Why I Heart Horses
Horses are not just beautiful – they’re clever and symbolic too. I believe they represent free spirit, strength and determination, everything that I’d love to induce into my guests whilst they’re in my company.
Plus, horses are the epitome of classic style.
Adding Interior Accents
Having just a black and white bedroom isn’t enough for me. It seems too… easy. So I thought I’d add a touch of subtle colour by using feminine shades as accents, such as this cushion with vibrant pink blossoms on a faded background. The unicorns are perfect for the scene too and very me – not because they’re girly or because they look like horses but because they’re mythical beings that embody the ‘happily ever after’ that I truly believe in.
Equestrian Quotes
Completing the theme with a personal touch I think is necessary. So, I keep thinking of cute sayings that’ll fit in perfectly into the room, such as:
“The secret of life is just to enjoy the ride”
or
“Horses have the wings we lack”
If you can’t tell… I’m trying to create a bedroom that’s sentimental, sweet and inspiring. 🙂
Breakfast in Bed
Simply because being a good host may mean that you’ll need to offer your guests breakfast, I think this pretty crockery/tea and dish set from habitat will match beautifully with the rest of the theme.

Habitat
Finally, there’s something about horses that screams fairytale. So whilst guests are under my roof I want them to feel energised, optimistic and like they’ve just walked into a story that always ends happily!

Hi Jo, it’s one of a kind isn’t it? It was taken by Douglas Friedman photography, maybe we can persuade them to share their secret 😉
