It’s Black and White When it Comes to Choosing a Sofa

As you may know I moved into my first home with my fiance at the end of last year. Since then, we have been desperately trying to save up for big furniture pieces and have been working hard to redecorate.

It seems that the previous owners really liked their colours. In case you’ve not read my posts previously, they had a purple master bedroom, bright pink girl’s bedroom and a bold blue little bedroom… not only that but their bathrooms were a light blue and the living room too – OH THE WOES!

Anyway, as Mr Ghost and I work hard to repaint the rooms we’re keen on making the room that we use most in the house a comfortable abode for us both. So, as a result of the lounge being blue and us still being unsure what colour to paint it I’ve figured that it’ll be a good idea to get a sofa that will fit in with ANY colour walls, accents and accessories…

My Black and White Sofa Idea

Unfortunately I can’t afford a designer sofa like the above, so I’d go for something a bit more creative. I would put together two 2 seater sofas, one white and one black and bring the two together with the accessories that I use.

Putting these black and white sofas from Furniture Choice side by side will create a contrasting and powerful welcome whenever guests come into the house and as it’s an open plan space I think it’ll work perfectly! Obviously these brilliant seaters look super comfortable too so I’d be sure to add scatter cushions and cosy covers so that I can snuggle up warm after a long day at work *sigh*.

Furniture Accessories

  •  Add patterns – This is an easy way to unite the furniture, a black and white pattern in this case will bring the room’s interior together.
  • Add a pop of colour – why not add colour depending on the season that you’re in? Such as yellows and green accents at spring and deep reds and browns during the winter.
  • Tactile textures – knitted cushions, fur rugs and wool throws, it’s certainly an interior stylist’s heaven!

What sofas would you go for?
