I’ve agreed to volunteer for The Festival of Stories!

on 3rd of May 2014

at High House Production Park

Purfleet, Essex

Why I’m Volunteering

You can probably tell that I’m a big fan of fairytales. I’ve studied them at university and even then I believe I’ve only partly understood them as there is so much more I know I can learn.

You say they’re simple but then again they’re so meaningful!

Firstly, they’re eternal and timeless. No matter what age you are and where you’re from the stories will penetrate right through to your soul; teaching you, warming you and putting a smile on your face.

It’s no surprise that there can be so many different versions of one fairytale from different parts of the world too, as this clearly shows that fairytales make sense to humanity as a whole – regardless of your culture and race.

For generations the stories are passed on from a grandparent to grandchildren and then they go and tell their children and children’s children and so on. So, I believe we need to carry the tradition on, I believe we need to continue with storytelling and passing over the tales that will forever be so important.

Even in this day and age when our world is obsessing over technology we cling on to fairytales. So… I am volunteering at this festival of stories that sits snug in my heart and I hope to see you there also…
