What type of Home Office worker are you?

Working full time and maintaining a blog is difficult but doable.

I have to be really organised to do everything that I want but there never seems to be enough time – does anyone else feel the same way? *cries*

Anyway, I started a new job in which I work from two different offices, one in London and one outside of London and get to work from home every week too. The ways of working in the office is somewhat different to any other places I’ve worked in. I’ve never come across it before but it’s very modern and I love it; it’s all about hot desking.

That’s why when I took Hammonds UK quiz on ‘what type of home office worker are you?‘ I literally burst out laughing because my result was a ‘HOT DESKER’. At work we’re encourage to speak to other people on our teams and in other teams too and most of us have laptops so we can easily move around. You simply plug in the laptop to a screen and you’ve got two to work on. Pretty cool, huh?

As you may noticed from my photos… I don’t actually have a desk in my home office. Now, don’t laugh at me but I use a shelf at the moment – pathetic right? Well, my issue isn’t that I don’t have a desk, because I do, but that it’s sitting in the garage waiting for the good weather to arrive so that I can finally sand it down and upcycle it into a lovely chic office desk.

As Hammonds UK created the quiz to promote their home office furniture and with my silly little shelf, I’m very tempted to go a buy a desk rather than wait for sunshine to arrive (I’ll be waiting a while). And if you take the quiz make sure to SHARE your results for the chance to win a three thousand pound makeover.

So, what type of home office worker are you?

Two jobs? Wow, how on earth do you manage that? Well done for doing it so well 🙂 I do miss the busy-ness of going into an office and having a regular job. x

I am totally disorganised! I don’t have a designated work space (should change that, really) and just sit on the sofa with my laptop.

I have an office, and a desk, but it is literally piled with papers and books and half eaten chocolate bars! Plus the kids are forever in and out, grabbing at my papers or drawing on them (and the walls) and it’s all a little chaotic! I dream of a quiet, organised office space!!

  • I struggle to blog regular and I don’t even work! I am so disorganised and really need to start getting organised, I don’t even have a shelf like you do everything is kept in a big tote bag and lugged around wherever I can find some peace to type x

You’re organised. I just use any space available! That’s the good thing about laptops.

I do have a designated are for doing music composition but even that has shrunk down over the years.

Apparently this is me – You’re a hot desker
You like to be able to work in an office that doesn’t feel like an office. You like to be able to finish your work, put your laptop away and sit in the same spot and read a book.

This is my results, i work from home and home ed my kids so the office is everywhere. Furniture Fashionista – When no two jobs are the same you need a space that lifts you above the ordinary. You love exploring new trends and fashions and how you work reflects that need to push the style limits. – i just like no clutter but with my 2 no matter how much i throw out and tidy the house just always looked cluttered haha 🙂

Nothing wrong with using a shelf as a desk so long as it gets the job done 😉 I had to give up my lovely home office to use as a nursery for our new baby.
